The lady who said that other folks went into comas and she didn't doesn't understand that the majority of diabetics feel a low and a minority do not feel a low. Some diabetics go on to develop hypoglycemic unawareness i.e. they no longer feel a low, but once did. If you do not feel lows, you pass out. A monitor will help you catch a low and you can treat it very simply with fast acting glucose.
